With solids, heathers, and beautiful self-striping ‘painterly’ colors, Homespun® comes in gorgeous shades you’ll love. Please note that some colors have long, slow color variations that cause them to subtly stripe. This is deliberate and adds to the beauty of the finished garment; such yarns are designated as our ‘painterly’ colors.

Knits up on US 10 (6mm) needles or a K (6.50mm) hook.
Review Summary:
Lion Brand Homespun Yarn is a bulky yarn and works up beautifully. The variegated colors when making afghans come out in stripes which is beautiful. However, the yarn itself a challenge to work with as it may tangle and split due to the nature of the spin. Once you realize the need to work gently, the end results are amazing and unique! Overall it has an interesting texture – thick, super soft and cuddly. As a result of the thickness and texture, you can’t see knots or any type of yarn changes.
In addition, there are 3 different types of colors; painterly, heathered, and multi-tweed. Our favorite is the painterly colors (such as painted desert), which gradually change and are absolutely gorgeous!
This yarn makes some amazing scarves, shawls, and blankets! Also, the colors tend to be more intense than most yarns, so if color is what you’re wanting, this yarn is your ticket!

Care:
Machine wash. Initial water temperature should not exceed 40C or 105F. Use a machine dryer regularly used at the hottest available temperature setting. Do not smooth or finish with an iron. Do NOT use bleach products. Dry Clean, any solvent.
